LaSalle Recruiting Targets Still In Play Premium Story

La Salle has a working list of recruits still considering the Explorers. Several have taken visits and still need to visit 20th & Olney while some others may take their first visit to Philadelphia. In the next month expect the recruiting picture to become much clearer and La Salle to hold at least one recruit in the bag.

While it appears things have been quiet on the La Salle recruiting front, that perception may be hiding the truth. Several players La Salle has been interested in since the summer evaluation period have begun taken visits while another one is currently trying to set up a visit date to visit the Explorers. Another potential signee appears to be waiting things out at the moment.

6”7 small forward Andrey Semenov took a trip to George Mason last weekend. While La Salle had substantial interest in Semenov this summer, that appears to have cooled. 6”9 power forward Ryan Brooks from Holy Spirit High School is visiting Rhode Island this weekend after tripping to Iona the previous week. La Salle’s interest in Brooks remains unclear. He would like to play in the Big East or Atlantic 10 but the only school in the Big East considering Brooks was Providence which just took Explorer target Bilal Dixon’s commitment and is now out of scholarships. That leaves Rhode Island and La Salle as his options in the A-10. On the surface it would appear Rhode Island is more interested in Brooks than La Salle at the moment. Keep an eye on Brooks after this weekend. If he doesn’t commit he will be wide open in his recruitment again.

Looking at players that La Salle is more interested in we need to look no further than Jakub Kusmieruk from the John Carroll School. He performed very well at a open gym workout this past week in front of Explorer assistant coach Horace Owens. Word is that La Salle and Kusmieruk are currently hammering out details on a mid to late October visit to campus. He is also visiting Central Florida the weekend of October 20th.

The Explorers remain in the mix with 6”8 power forward Darrius Morrow from Columbia High School in Decatur Georgia. Morrow has visited Fordham and is at South Carolina this weekend. He is scheduled to visit Cincinnati next weekend. La Salle may try to get a visit lined up with Morrow after that.

La Salle is still awaiting world on Andrew Randall from Communication Tech. The 6”6 small forward has visited Temple and been on La Salle’s campus dozens of times but has not indicated when he might make a decision. His final three schools are La Salle, Temple and VCU. According to OwlsDaily.com editor Shawn Pastor Temple received a visit from Owen Wignot, a 6”5 small forward this weekend which may or may not indicate Temple’s desire to possibly prepare for life without Randall or just look in another direction.

The next couple of weeks should be very interesting and could prove quite fruitful for the Explorer program. Stay with ExplorerHoopReport.com for all of the latest news and developments in La Salle basketball recruiting.
