Ray Sims was on Roman Catholic's 2006 team that got to the Philadelphia Catholic championship before falling to St. John Neumann-Goretti. This past season Sims took his basketball talents to prep powerhouse Boys to Men in Chicago in an attempt to garner better basketball offers and get himself qualified for freshman eligibility. While the offers did come and improve, Sims was unable to qualify and has since commited to Paris Junior College in Tezas. "Ray had a host of schools involved, including La Salle
but he just couldn't get the score he needed to qualify" Sims' aau coach Larry Waiters told Explorer Hoop Report. Sims was being recruited by the La Salle staff to be a defender against smaller, quicker guards that gave the Explorers trouble this past season. Since then the Explorers have added Darryl Partin
from Charis Prep to fill that need.

Another prospect the Explorers were keeping their eye on was 6"6 wing Kenny Moore
from Philadephia's University City High School. Waiters said Moore could have had another year but decided to go the JUCO route instead. "He could have had another year but he just wasn't going to qualify so he decided to go to Paris and compete down there" Waiters said.

Now both players will be teamates and bringing their Philly game to Texas and looking to better their position to Division I schools in two years.
Ray "Doodles" Sims and Kenny Moore were both on the Explorer's radar screen this past spring. Now both players have made their college choices and will be playing together at a Texas junior college.
